Why was the HIV2020 Conference created?
The overarching goal of HIV2020 is to provide a safe alternative for individuals who are unable or unwilling to enter the U.S. in 2020, as well as those who cannot afford to attend the International AIDS Conference. It will also offer opportunities to reaffirm the leading role communities play in the global HIV response. You can download a full set of talking points for key populations to help spread the word about HIV2020 here.
Why is this event happening in Mexico City?
Mexico City was selected to host our event after conversations with our global and local partners identified it as a unique location that is safe and secure for communities who would not be able to attend an international conference in the United States including people who use drugs, sex workers, and people living with HIV. You can download a full set of talking points for key populations to help spread the word about HIV2020 here.
How do I apply for a visa?
HIV2020 can provide letters of invitation upon request to registrants who have paid their fee in full or who have received an official scholarship. To request a letter of invitation, please contact us at email@example.com
How can I sponsor the HIV2020 conference?
Your support will help to ensure that community advocates with minimal financial means can attend and that the voices of grassroots activists from around the world will be heard on a global stage. We will also need grant support and corporate sponsorship to cover venue, communication, catering, translation, and staff costs.
